Original Bakkerito Photography photos
with a touch of
Artificial Intelligence Enhanced Photography.

Although I strive to capture the best possible photo straight out of the camera, sometimes a scene is so mesmerizing that I imagine an extra element belonging in it. When I’m photographing, I often spend one to two hours at a location, plenty of time to picture these additions in my mind. The final image may carry that atmosphere, even if those imagined elements are missing.

With the introduction of AI Generative Fill in Photoshop, I now have the ability to add these elements in post-processing. Love it or hate it, AI Generative Fill can produce breathtaking results—from removing a small pole in seconds (a task that used to take at least 10 minutes with the clone stamp tool) to replacing entire skies.

My AI-Enhanced Photography is about creating unrealistic fantasy worlds; it’s about adding elements that naturally belong in the scene in my imagination. Every piece takes several hours to refine, ensuring each print is a unique blend of real photography and thoughtful digital artistry.

Kinderdijk, The Netherlands

The colour in this pre-sunrise scene was like this! It almost looked Martian!
That’s why I added a Mars-like planet in the sky 🙂
The reed in the foreground was too messy. Therefore I added a small wooden boat.
Because I missed balance in this photo, I added a city appearing from the mist on the right hand-side.
And I added a jetty, just because I felt like it 🙂

Cochem, Germany

This photo was taken just after a glorious downpour of rain had come over. So I imagined the sun coming through again. I therefore replaced part of the sky with some blue areas in it.
The waterfall on the right-hand side is just over the top, but fitting in this scene, if you ask me.
The woodlands in the front was also an idea of the damp of the rain coming in the form of mist from the valley.
And then in the background on the left, I added a small road that leads up on the hillside.

Burg Eltz, Germany

What an interesting castle! Way out in the woods where creatures roam free. Therefore I went all-in with adding a large dragon standing on the roof. In my eyes it is defending the castle.
I also added a moon, way bigger than normal so it is obvious that it has been added.
The last thing that was missing, was a knight that is riding to the castle. So I added that in the lower left.

Burg Eltz, Germany

Visiting Burg Eltz in the mist is just eerie! The castle is so massive appearing from the mist, it is also so ghostly! I therefore added three figures that are floating towards the castle. It now looks like you are witnessing something that you should not have seen, especially due to the low point of view from those stairs downwards.
I wanted to add more mystique by giving the illusion that you enter it from some street, therefore the lantern. The tree on the right is an addition to have the photo in balance again.
And look at the gate… it is open and shows part of the interior!

Stompwijk, The Netherlands

The original photo is one of my most favourite photos. So what could be added here?
Well, the most prominent is the figure hovering over the water. That figure really leads you in the photo!
Then I added a moon like planet, way bigger than normal, so it is obvious that it has been added.
And then there was a bit part of the photo filled with a blue sky. Well, in Holland we don’t have any real mountains, so I added those. And the figure in the water is looking towards those mountains.

Stompwijk, The Netherlands

Same windmill, other scene! In this photo I really hated the dike on the right lower part of the photo. So I knew that I needed to do something with that. Who would expect a railroad track there? So I added a railroad track there!
Other elements that I added was the little wooden boat in the foreground.
Like most windmills, they are placed along canals. So I wanted to give the impression that this one was located at a lake, by adding a mist bank and a city emerging from the mistbanks.

Rijssen, The Netherlands

This was a test shoot at the windmill of Rijssen in The Netherlands, but being there all alone, with the calm waters had a strange feeling. I therefore added the three mystical balls over the water.
But why are those balls there over the water hovering? Well, perhaps the two added figures know! One is almost see-through and the other is fishin, unaware of me looking at the water.
What I did not like in the frame was the jetty on the left-hand side that appears to blend into the lone tree there. So I deleted it and created some space on that side.
